CAMP DIRECTOR

PUTTING ALL OF THE PIECES TOGETHER!


As the Camp Director, you will be the go-to person for all things camp for the organization. Your job will include many responsibilities, all with the goal of creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience for Camp BizLIFE campers. Our Camp Directors have real ownership over their camp programs and enjoy infusing their own creativity and talents into the weekly schedules. As you manage campers, their families, camp logistics, your staff team and other camp happenings, you will be truly supported by the LFL Leadership Team all the way.

 

Camp Director Qualities:

  • Knowledge and expertise in the area of camp program planning
  • Ability to direct and lead a team
  • Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers at all times
  • Energetic - capable of sustaining energy for the duration of activities
  • Flexible - able to make decisions and adjust plans in real-time
  • Prior experience working with youth in a leadership position
  • Effective communication skills and public speaking ability
  • Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, Consistent, Level-Headed, and Calm in all situations
  • Desire to help young adults grow in character, experiences and insights
  • CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the summer begins


Camp Director Responsibilities:

  • Hire, Train and Supervise Counselors
  • Work with campers and staff to provide a fun, safe and exciting camp experience
  • Attend and supervise off-site field trips as necessary
  • Assign Counselors tasks and manage their performance
  • Coordinate welcome activities; greet families and campers upon arrival and orientate them to camp
  • Establish rules with campers and staff; review emergency procedures
  • Manage parent expectations; communicate with them as appropriate
  • Facilitate camp schedule and activities
  • Manage camp supplies and staff uniforms
  • Address any issues that may arise including, but not limited to, camper behavior issues, parent complaints, etc.
  • Meet with LFL Leadership to update them on your progress and any issues you may be encountering
  • Complete other duties, as assigned


Camp sessions will run Sunday-Friday from the end of June to mid July. Staff members must be available to work onsite for the full camp season.
